October weddings...

Right now, as I write this, one of my best friends is in labor. With a boy. A baby boy. I've claimed him as my new intern.
These photos are from a wedding last week at The Metropolitan Building. Taken by Chuck. He's our new in house photographer. Kid takes great pics and looks like he could be a Beatle. I've been calling him Chinese John Lennon behind his back.

HONOR SS2014

Fashion Week here in NY came and went without me really noticing this season. We did a few things, not as much as last spring season, but a few. What am I saying, we were busy. I guess this time I wasn't staying up at night unable to sleep due to the anxiety of "how are we going to get all this done?" but it got done and done well... and that what matters right?

Here are a few snaps taken by Reuben of HONOR (We got to steal Reuben from Saipua for a day... thanks for lending him, Sarah. Thank you REUBEN!) I felt bad though because I'm sure Reuben wanted to watch the show and I was like "Our work is done. WE'RE LEAVING! You can see it on Style.com."

The inspiration for Honor this season was a wedding at a funeral feeling fairy forest. Right? A little confusing but hey, creatives. We worked with Aux Armes again who conceptualized the forest of exaggerated birch trees with eerily twinkly branches. As per usual, we were charged with the floral component. An hour before the show, the lovely Rachel comes over and says, "We love this but can you make it look more dead?" So lillies were crushed, delphineums were snapped, callas were just trampled on. And while it wasn't necessarily what we originally planned (far cry from blankets of wild clematis vine) it looked cool. And that's what's fun about this side of things, gotta be on your toes, ready to improvise with what you got, and ready to kill some shit.

RO & CO Video Collaboration

Hung out with the ladies of Ro & Co this summer and talked some flower stuff...

Its weird hearing your own voice. Like listening to the message machine. All I could think the first time I watched the final edit of this video was "Wait do I really sound like that?"

We had a good day. I love Ro & Co. They've been huge supporters of FFF from Dia Numero Uno. We have MANY collaborations in the works with them... one being some very special packaging for some very special FFF products. Coming soon... ish.

FFF + Farrah Sit

We are lucky to have formed friendships with extremely talented people, not only throughout Brooklyn, but throughout the country abroad. One of the most important parts of FFF is collaboration, and we do it as often as possible.

Farrah Sit of Light and Ladder and I have come together in collaboration to create a line of products that aim to merge our mutual interests in bringing the natural world outside into one’s daily routines within the home.  Our products range from conceptual and artistic while still remaining rooted in utilitarian, everyday uses.
